WUH???

I'm so excited for school!! Yes, I realize that is a very odd thing for me, Elise to say, but oh well.. :)

P.S. Can i please have all of you lovely ladies outfits? Thank you:) We will be great friends.

When can I move in?

Oh please, oh please can I live in this room? I'd feel like a magical wizard! Already in my room now, my brother said it looks like i go in it to cast spells cuz it's a magical wizard room. But I love it:) hmm. I should post a pic of my bedroom. maybe later:).
But If I had this room it really could be a magical wizard room. It's so beautiful and comfy, and it reminds me of the attic room that Becky and Sarah have to live in in A little Princess (one of my all-time favorite movies). I swear that movie really is magic. Anyway, I'm definitely going to have to copy some things from this room, the bedspread for example. It's funny cuz I really have been on the hunt for an amazing new bedspread for quite some time, though I still REALLY REALLY want the navy bedspread from a few posts ago. I must figure out a way to get it!! Or at least one very similar! :)
p.s. check out the painting above the bed. Beautiful!!

omg tent

Um, hello. If I had a tent like this I would totally love to go camping. Wow, never thought I'd say that.. though even still with this beautiful, magical tent I'd have to bug-spray the heck out of it. Or maybe I'll just get a tent like this for inside. Oh yes, that is a much better plan. So now, If I had a tent like this, I would totally love to go camping...inside. :)

Little Cory

So since I was about 7 years old, I have been collecting pigs. ANY KIND of pigs. For my 8th birthday I got a pig from everyone invited to my party at the roller rink. One girl even gave me two of the exact same stuffed/beanie pig that another girl gave me! Then I got some pound piggies that came with a mom and four little piggies. So altogether, I had about ELEVEN pigs. Oh, and some Pound Elephants from another girl-(apparently she didn't get the memo). That was such a fabulous birthday! We roller bladed all evening, ate superman ice cream until we were sick, had some 12 yr old boy party crashers, and loads and loads of pigs!! Still to this day I have so many pigs. However, most of my piggies are old, and I hadn't gotten any new for a while, until this last birthday I told Audie that all I wanted was a pig. She got me the most adorable ceramic pig ever! And even made a little sailor hat out of paper for it! I love it!

Anyway, I was just thinking about this all today and how I've always wanted a real pet pig. Since I was 7 I wanted a pig EXACTLY like Wilbur in "Charlottes Web", and even didn't eat anything from pigs for oh, about a week. Within that week my family went to a funeral, and I actually saved some pieces of ham in a napkin cuz I was so sad about the poor piggy who'd had to die.

So from then on, I wanted a pet pig so I could protect it and make sure it was never ever slaughtered and eaten. A little later, Shawn from BMW had a pet pig in his room named Little Cory! Perfect name!!! Gosh I cant wait til I can have my very own Little Cory!! Future husband? yeah, we're not having dogs. We're havin a little piggy!!! :) Hopefully a teacup one like this little dear!
Aw! And this little piggy went WEE WEE WEE ALL THE WAY HOME TO ME ME ME!! :)

The What Market?

Today we got up early, (7:30) and drove out to the Tuacahn to see the Farmer's Market out there. Let me just tell you, that was not a Farmers Market. I was really wanting some good fresh fruit, but everything there was those beaded bands that you attach to a watch face, or earrings made out of turquise, or bracelets made out of soda cans. Yes, creative, and there was some cute stuff, but I just wanted some fresh organic fruit, dang it!! So we finally left and went to the REAL Farmers Market in Ancestor Square on blvd and main, and I found what I was looking for. :) Well, almost. The only fruit there were teeny little apricots. So of course, we had to get some along with sugar snap peas, some pretty flowers, some little roma tomatoes, and other delicious veges. So even though I still didn't get all the fresh fruit I wanted, we did get some yummy produce that I am so excited to cook and eat with! Yum! I'll also definitely be making a saturday morning tradition out of this! Except without the Tuacahn part. :)

HAPPY JULY!!!!

I love July so so much! I love living in St. George and walking out of my house into the heat of the summer and feeling the tremendous warmth all around me. It's like one huge warm blanket! And once July is here, it means that it really is officially SUMMER TIME!!! I love it! Plus swimming, barbeques, late nights, sprinklers, popsicles, hot dogs, tank tops and shorts are all just so fantastic!

I wish I was there! Image found via WeHeartIt.

LOVE DRUNK

Today is the one year anniversary of one of the funnest, most spontaneous and adventurous days in my life. This day last year I was driving down to Redondo Beach, California to be in Boys Like Girl's music video for their single Love Drunk.

It was an absolutely incredible day. Their manager had just emailed me the night before, and I was picked along with two or three other people from the fan club to go be in the music video. As you can guess, I was FREAKING OUT!! So I woke up the next morning, june 29, 2009, and drove the 7 hrs with my awesome friend Dani Whatcott. We finally found our way to the fun house where the video was being shot, and the wardrobe guy gave us and the other extras some vintage shirts to wear, and we started filming!

It was such a fun day to be there and learn how music videos are made, meet a bunch of new people, including Ashley Tisdale who was also in the video, play the totally rad arcade/fun house games :) and to just hang out and get to talk to some of the band members about their music, what inspired some of their songs, and just random things like Bryan's (the bass player) dog, rock for health, warped tour, etc.. It was an amazing experience and I am so happy beyond words that I went. (My parent's weren't too fond of the idea.)

And you can even see me a couple times throughout the video!! Right at the beginning I'm to the right of the screen in the background by ashley tisdale, then two minutes into the video a couple of times:) Except that part I look so funny because the guy told us to pretend like what we were seeing was the coolest thing EVER!! WE did that take a couple times, and they chose the one where I looked like that...hahahaha it's ok though, I'm still glad you can see me at all:) hahaha!

Also, this is a lovely idea for a "moving away to Orem" present for me:)

yes yes, either would make a marvelous addition to my bedroom:) Especially cuz I have chalkboard paint!

Oh yes, Please!

This is possibly the loveliest dress I have ever laid my eyes upon. Please oh please, I WANT IT!! Seriously it is simply perfect.
though I suppose I'd settle for this one too...
or this little beaute...
Or this:) Don't you love the voluminous sleeves and the precious little birdies on it?!

Oh golly, they're just so lovely! I am so shopping starved!! stupid money saving idea...:( I will definitely need to go shopping in my closet and around my house to come up with some new free outfits. That's ok, it's fun! :) Today I wore a dress as my shirt with a super cute skirt that was $2.00 that I sewed lace around the bottom, and made the waist smaller so I could wear it at my real waist and not my pretend waist, aka (hips). Oh, and I cut off this super cute coral rose charm from one necklace and put it on a longer chain. I decided that was quite a hit! So apparently I have no need to buy expensive clothes anyway!:) Except the ones above of course... they're just sooo beautiful!!

A Headless Chicken Day

Do you ever have those days when you feel like you're running around like a chicken with your head cut off? (Only without the pain and the anticipation of falling over dead.) I know we all have those days. Today was one of those for me. Except usually when I have headless chicken days I get quite stressed and annoyed. But not today! I decided the reason I was just so happy and energetic was because of the soundtrack playing through my head all day. I mean, it only makes sense that with a crazy day with so much going on, you should have a crazy song to go along with it.

That's not just me is it? Do normal people get songs in their head that portray the emotion they are feeling? For example, almost every time I'm sad, I immediately think of Relient K's Up and Up and it makes me feel so much better:) Then when I'm mad I think of Emery's The Smile, the Face or What I've Done by Linkin Park. Anyway, today the song was Headdress by Amazing Baby. It's so busy and makes me feel like i'm spinning in circles in the middle of the freeway with red and purple ribbons blowing in the wind all around me. Yeah weird I know, but it's an awesome song.

So please listen, and do tell what you feel:) or what one of your go-to mad or sad songs is. I'd love to hear:)

LOVE THEM

You must watch this video. MUST!!

Paper Route has been one of my favorites for a long time, and they seriously just keep continuing to amaze me. The whole mix of everything they do is just fantastic. The melodies, their use of unique instruments, their indie, electronic, "ambient" style, the way they make you actually feel every note and lyric, is just mind- blowingly beautiful. Even all the band members are amazingly sweet. At their last concert I went to, they didn't have time to play one of my favorite songs called "Last time", so JT promised to play it the next time they came to salt lake, and to dedicate it to me! He even wrote his twitter on my hand so we could keep in touch and he would remember. Now if that's not going above and beyond to make a fan happy, then what is?! Seriously, these guys are absolutely incredible, and I will be number one fan forever. So, to help them out, please watch this video. It is for one of their best songs; "Gutter", and it's amazing. They have a goal to get 12,500 views by july 4th! Let's help them get there!! Also, please listen to "Are we all forgotten". The lyrics and message are beautiful, and just so inspiring. love.

This past week I have been babysitting from 7:30 am to 7:30 pm. I. am. going. crazy!! Don't get me wrong, I do love kids, but there's just so many of them!! By the time I get home each day, all I want to do is shower, eat a popsicle, and go to sleep. But, also it has been pretty fun. They're all actually quite good children, and are pretty adorable. One little girl looks like she should be in my family cus of her white blond hair. I LOVE it when little kid's have hair that is so white-blond it's practically transparent! So beautiful! -eliseila

If you don't know this song, you should. It somehow finds it's way into my head at least once every single day. I guess it's magic:) actually, i know it is.

raindrops on roses

So the other day it rained in here in my St. george. Crazy, you say? Yeah. I know. But it was SO MUCH FUN!!! I was unaware of the beautiful little droppies coming down until i opened the door to let my puppy out, and there it was..RAIN! So i quick grabbed Celina and we dashed outside to do the rain dance. Yes, I know that is usually done to make it rain, but i like to do the rain dance WHILE it is raining. The rain dance usually consists of legs and arms flailing around as if independent from my body, followed by a quick sprint in the middle of the road to the end of the block and back, then more dancing in the driveway.
The only rule of rain dancing is that you can not wear shoes. Or a coat. Sometimes you can have an umbrella, but only if it is a really stunningly awesome one, (like my clear one, Clarinova). So after dancing, running, skipping, prancing, twirling, and swinging in the rain, we decided to head back inside. It was so fabulous to run back inside absolutely dripping with that magnificent rain water. Mom says it's a very good natural conditioner. Of course it is:) The next day Stephanie and Audrey came home for the weekend! We pretended it was father's day then since they cant come home this weekend for real fathers day. But i thought it was so fun, and my dad was so surprised!! :) I loved having my whole family at home with me. Those are always the best days; days when we can all relax, and just hang out together with good food, and hilarious conversations. Let's face it, my family is hilarious, and i just love them soo much!!

This girl is definitely invited next time we rain dance. But only if she brings her umbrella/spaceship:)

To cut or not to cut. That's the REAL question.

So since about December I have been wanting to cut bangs. And not the swoopie kind. The thick, blunt adorable kind. However, I still have not cut them. Usually if I want to do something so life-changing I have to think about it for a while. Then what happens is that I just have a dream about it, and then I'm decided. With this bangs issue, I had a dream that I finally went to get my bangs cut. I loved them and thought they were so adorable, and was so happy. But soon that happy balloon was BURST! The next day (still in my dream) I went to work, and EVERYONE had the same bangs!! WHAT?! I was so so so so so mad, and I woke up from the dream sweating with tears in my eyes and my arms wrapped protectively around my head. So as you can guess, I decided NOT to cut bangs. I feel like it's just a trend, and though I know quite a few beauties that look marvelous with blunt bangs, it's just not for me. I hate being on trend. Though how I wanted to cut my bangs was not really the trendy kind. More the Joan Jett kind. But still. :) Anyway, it's good to get that out. Phew...

See? Her bangs are so so cute on her! Plus her outfit?? B.E.A.utiful!!
p.s. I don't remember where i found this pic, so if you know, please comment so i can give credit to who's it is:)

p.s. Nanny Mcfee did turn out just dandy in the end:)

grad night trip 08

Patrisha and me on our way to cali for Grad Night.

I was looking through some pictures from my grad night in disneyland, and it just hit me like a sack of potatoes right in the gut that I have been graduated for TWO years. That is sooo crazy to me. I can't believe how fast time goes by. Though i wish i would have maybe done more in the past two years, i cant say that i truly regret anything. I'm actually pretty content with where i am in my life right now. Though i'll definitely be making a list of things to do before the THREE years from graduating mark!! :) -eliseila

scary mcfee

K,have you ever seen the movie Nanny McFee? She is soo scary!! I would never ever hire her as a nanny for my children! She should work in a prison! Or, if someone commits a crime, instead of jail time, they could have McFee time, and have to live with her for a couple weeks. That would be WAY worse of a punishment than jail time!! Though I suppose maybe this movie will get less creepy as it goes. I certainly hope so! But I am quite in love with the little kids! They are so so cute!! I do hope all my kids are like them:) Especially when they make up names for themselves, bum, fartigan, and bosoms! haha so cute:)

magic tree house

do you ever just wanna run away to a magic tree house? I do. Quite frequently actually. Not really because i'm stressed out or anything, but just because I like to go to beautiful places and be completely all alone sometimes. Where i can read, or write or just relax, and let my mind wander. It's amazing, and everyone should make time to get away at least once a week, if not more:) So, go find your own little hide-away. Take some hot cocoa, or a cool drink, a good book, and a blankie, and just relax. You'll be glad you did. :) *Eliseila

well, here goes...

So for the looongest time I've been trying and thinking and brainstorming about ideas to name my blog so it would just scream THIS IS COMPLETELY AND TOTALLY, 100% ELISE. But it's been sooo hard! I thought about using just my name, but that's so boring! So then had different names that all included the word Bird. Birds have always been and always will be my favorite animals and pets. They are beautiful, and are used for so many metaphors, ideas, and inspirations. See but I still want my blog to be different, and I feel like anything with birds is kind of trendy right now, so I didn't want to be just another girl trying to follow a trend and fit in. I'm done with that. Then I kept arguing with myself about every title/name i came up with. (I'm very good at arguing with myself.) So I finally came to "walking contradiction". Because I feel I'm just that. I love so many different things and cant be tied down to one specific genre, type, influence, category, description, classification, etc.. I'm kind of all over the place. I hate conforming, but I am easy going, and go with the flow. I hate being told what to do, but I'm respectful and obedient when I see fit. I love vintage but there's nothing like a brand new, never-worn, still smells like the store outfit. I love lazy days when i have absolutely nothing to do but lie around in my jammies, but also love going running and feeling empowered and strong, with sweat dripping down my forehead. Anyway, this title also reminds me of Ever After which has been one of my favorite movies since I was 8 years old. Henry says Danielle is a walking contradiction because she "spouts the ideals of a utopian society, yet she lives the life of a courtier." Though that does sound sort of negative, I think it's really beautiful, and i think it's good to be a walking contradiction. It's like parading differences, and celebrating uniqueness. Which is just the ticket!! :)
